Question: Should I insulate the floor above a semi-finished basement?
David writes from Canada: "I have a bungalow with a semi-finished basement, (no heat source). I am wondering if I should insulate the floor (ceiling of the basement). All plumbing for the main floor runs through that area."
Answer: Insulating the floor will not hurt anything and should help thermally and acoustically. Naturally, I recommend PINK R-19 batts.
