Question: How can I insulate the floor of an enclosed porch?

Harry writes from Newtown Square, Pennsylvania: "I have a porch on the front of the house that is enclosed. I want to insulate it. The floor is about 2 feet above ground level and exposed. Can I insulate it and how?"

Answer: If you are asking about insulating the floor of the porch, we recommend insulating it in the same way just as a crawlspace application. The Owens Corning website has a page with instructions and photos to show how a crawlspace can be insulated.

If you have other opportunities to insulate the porch (walls and ceiling), there is information on the website about those applications as well under residential insulation projects.
