Question: Do you know of a supplier in Alberta that sells paper-backed rolls of 24" fiberglass insulation?
Bruce writes from Ferintosh, Alberta: "Do you know of a supplier in Alberta that sells paper back rolls of 24" fibreglass insulation? R8, R10, R12 or whatever. Is it even made any more?"
Answer: The Canadian National Building Code does not allow for paper-faced batts or rolls of insulation to be used in residential dwellings. The air/vapor retarder must be a separate component because it needs to be continuous.
