Question: Should we insulate over an unheated enclosed porch?
Jacquie writes from Ulster Park, New York: "We have an unheated enclosed porch off of our kitchen. If we put a ceiling in there will be a gap of about 3" so we were planning on insulating that gap to prevent any condensation, do we need to put in venting for the roof if this area is not heated?"
Answer: As I understand the situation you describe, you do not need venting in the unheated enclosed porch. If the space is not heated, I do not recommend adding insulation.
