It is a thin perforated metallic sheet that lays over the current insulation in the attic. The perforations allow moisture to enter and leave the insulation. I know my windows have a metallic coating and it does greatly help reduce the heat when the sun is directly shining through them in the summer. The material is supposedly space age and can save %20 in energy bills. What does Owens Corning recommend?"
